Reading this kind of gave me a headache. It reminded me of the movie Groundhog Day and that’s not exactly bad, except I was itching to get through the first 6 chapters to find out what will or won’t happen by the 7th chapter. I just didn’t have enough patience to read about the same day over and over with such a flat character. I feel like everyone else’s motivations for doing certain things were explained except for Sam’s. She’s a typical popular and mean girl- and I don’t really dislike her for that. There are characters that you hate at the begin of the story, but they eventually grow on you and you learn to like them or even respect them. I started at ‘meh’ with Sam and I ended with ‘meh’ still.
I should probably talk about the plot and other good things about the book, but honestly, those 7 chapters of Sam, Sam, Sam were just too much for one sitting.
It was okay. 2.5/5 stars.
